THE WISE GUY
“The Wise Guy is the first release from author Lex Valentine. It
is a wonderful story about coming into your own, and finding that one
special person that you are meant to be with. It is well written,
with characters that catch your attention and hold it for the entire
time you are reading. I am definitely looking forward to reading the
next book she has coming out."

SHIFTING WINDS
“
"Lex
Valentine
is an author that is on the rise. Her Darkworld
series is hot and an amazing read. This is the first of the series
that
is looking to be a welcome addition to any reader’s library. Her
world
will keep you on your toes and waiting with bated breath for the next
book. Her characters have a life of their own, and on any given
night I
almost expect to run across them walking down a main street in any city
I am in."

"I
love
the
way
the
chapters
in the
beginning bounced
between present and past to show the beginnings of Elysia and Declan's
relationship. All of the characters popped off the page, making them
very intriguing and left me wanting more of all of them. The love
scenes between the reluctant to commit Elysia and the steamy Declan are
well written and hot. I wanted to jump into the book and yell at both
of them to see what was right in front of their faces. This is
definitely a book to add to your To Read list."

HOT WATER
"I would have to say this is my
favorite book by her so
far and I just fell in love with Colin and Eden. I held my breath
waiting for these two lovers, who initially only know each other's
first names, to find out who the other really is and the reaction of
each did not disappoint me. Colin definitely knows how to please a lady
and makes me want to say Vanilla PLEASE!

Tales, Twisted
Tales, and Tales of the Magia
On March 5, 2009 Pink Petal Books released Book One and Book Two of the
Tales of the Darkworld. Shifting
Winds, Book One, is the story of black dragon Declan Antaeus who
has had a secret crush on a colleague in the Darkworld's death care
industry. Vampire Elysia Granville, the head of Finance for Granville
Cemetery, was publically dumped by her fiancee in front of all her
peers three years ago. Now, she's decided to come out of her shell. At
the Undertaker's Ball on Halloween she meets Declan and sparks fly.
In Book Two, Hot
Water, Elysia's brother Colin goes to New York and meets a sexy
black dragon woman at Carpe Noctem nightclub. Eden Antaeus walks
into Carpe Noctem looking for vanilla sex. What she finds instead is
Colin, who turns out to be her mate.
Book Three, Fire
Season, is a Rainbow Awards finalist and ARe bestseller.
Releases in
July at Pink Petal Books. Fire Season
is a prequel to Shifting Winds
and Hot Water. It's the story
of how heterosexual Holden Antaeus
discovers that his dragon mate is a man, Garret Renquist, a green
dragon from England. Fire Season has been critically acclaimed, with
ten sterling reviews to it's credit. (Six 5-star or better reviews and
four 4-star or better reviews.)
Book Four, Ride the
Lightning was
released in December 2009 by Pink Petal Books. In this story, red
dragon Emily Carrington has a past filled with secrets. Her mate, black
dragon Vahid Delrey, wants no part of her. Thus begins a three year
long battle with increasing pain as the two fight the urge to mate. As
they spiral toward madness, they must either decide to mate or one of
them must die.
Book One of the Twisted Tales, The Pixie Prince was released in
July by Cobblestone Press. This book is the story of the newly
crowned Pixie Prince, Max LeFevre. Max is an underwear model dubbed
'Max Fever' by his fans. When Max has issues sleeping after receiving
his golden wings, Marty, the Fairy Godfather, introduces him to vampire
Bliss Wilde who just happens to have a mattress Max can sleep on.
The Tales of the Magia begins with a
prequel to The Wise Guy. It
will be the story of Randall Wise's godparents, August and Zoe Penhall.
Featured in the story are Rand's parents Richard and Daphne.
Stand Alone
Darkworld Books
Sunday's
Child - The Wise Guy is set in the Darkworld and tells the tale of
a wizard who is about to ascend and become a mage. Randall Wise was
born on the Sabbath and is a nice guy. Unfortunately, he has the idea
that good guys finish last in love. Then a beautiful witch moves in
next door and Rand's whole life changes. Brenna Thorne thinks that
looking like the girl next door doesn't get you laid. That is, until
she meets Rand. It's a story about being true to yourself and it's
populated with memorable, fun characters including a familiar that
isn't a familiar.
This is the first book to delve into the
magical community in the Darkworld. The story also references a
painting by wizard Nick Diamond,
who is the hero of The
Whip
&
the
Chair at the Pink
Chair Diaries.
The
next story to reference Nick's work is Mating,
a short story published by Freya's
Bower and an ARe bestseller. Mating's
companion
story, Runaways,
is also be published by Freya's. The stories are about twin
werewolves, Roul
and Ranulf Verlaine, who find
their mates suddenly. There is the possibility for a series of shorts
based on Watchers, the company that Roul hires to watch Ran. Since
Roul's mate Morgan owns the company you would see more of them if I can
find the time to write them.
Another short story set in the Darkworld is Ain't Nuthin But a Hellhound, a dark
tale that is part of the Weirdly 3 anthology coming from Wild Child
Publishing. This story is unlike the other Darkworld stories. It's
happy ending is a far cry from the romance you usually expect from me.
Lilah is half demon. Her mother was human but her father is a Demon
Lord, ruler of the Hellhounds. Lilah's ex is Xavion, the Lord of the
Hellhounds. Lilah's father promised Xavion his throne if he mated
with Lilah. However, Lilah, who saves the souls that the Hellhounds try
to take, isn't interested in the demon realm. When she receives a
lesson about power from a human whose soul she saves, Lilah's outlook
on her father, Xavion, and the demon realm undergo a drastic change.
The
Darkworld Pink Chair Diaries Trilogy are free reads that you can
access by visiting the Pink Chair
Diaries website. The first story in
the trilogy is The Were & the
Chair,
the story of how bi-sexual werewolf Weylyn Randall meets his mate,
Keir. In Were, Weylyn receives the pink chair and his mate from
Drake Keating, his former lover and good friend. In The Wiz & the Chair, Drake finds
out about the chair from his neighbor and friend, Nick Diamond. Lonely
and dissatisfied with his life, Drake buys the chair for Weylyn, but
end up using it himself when he rekindles a relationshop with Justin
Scott. Nick Diamond, the hero of the third story in the trilogy, The Whip & the Chair, is an
artist and a master with a whip. A Dom who's lived a BDSM lifestyle for
more than twenty years, Nick is shocked when his current model asks him
to whip her. He discovers that Ione isn't a sub. She's something far
more intriguing.
Recurring Characters
The Darkworld has many exciting characters.
However, there's more
to this world than the heroes and heroines. Here's a list of secondary
characters who show up in more than one book.
Sean Antaeus
- Sean is the head of the Antaeus family, brother to Declan, Holden,
Eden, and Diandra. He is also cousin to Emily Carrington who looks like
his mother. Sean is a Machiavellian sort who would do anything to
ensure that his family is happy. You'll read his story at the end of
the series in Force Majeur.
Alfred Stone
- Alfred owns Stone Mortuary Services and is the head of the Funeral
Directors Guild. Upfront, Alfred just appears to be Marius Granville
and Sean Antaeus' best friend. In reality, Alfred is so very much more.
In Fire Season, readers will
discover just what Alfred is and expect
him to be meddling his way through every book in the series. Also, in
the epilogue of Book 3 we discover that Alfred has a sister and a very
big secret. You'll see a bit more of Ashworth Stone in Books 5 and 6
until
her story is told in book 7, Fire
Storm. Alfred's own story is told in Book 9, Rain of Tears.
Marius
Granville - The cool and collected head of the Granville
vampires is the icy foil to Sean Antaeus' volatile personality. Marius
runs his business with an unemotional coolness, a by product of having
loved and lost in both business and his personal life. Once he put
himself back together he vowed never to become emotionally vested
again. However, the gods have something in store for Marius in the form
of a petite, free-spirited, free-love living werewolf named Sair.
You''ll meet Sair in Book 5 of the Tales series, Common Ground.
Karl with a
K - Karl is an elf with an internet gossip show. He's snarky and
amusing. He drinks Guinness and hangs out at Carpe Noctem, a vampire
nightclub in New York City owned by Bliss Wilde, heroine of The Pixie
Prince. Karl shows up in Hot
Water, Never Been Bit, What You Wish
For, and the unnamed Rapunzel story.
Marty, the
Fairy Godfather - Marty inherited his powers from his
grandmother. He's a nice guy who enjoys helping people. His disguise in
the Darkworld is as a college student who works as a waiter at The
Butcher's Block, a trendy restuarant next to Carpe Noctem in New York
City. Marty is in The Pixie Prince,
Never Been Bit,
What You Wish
For, and the unnamed
Rapunzel story.
Corey Green
- Corey is fae, a wildling who is unabashedly gay and filled with
wisdom and humor. He's the private assistant to vampire Colin Granville
who's in charge of Sales and Marketing for Granville Cemetery in
California. Corey is in Hot Water,
Common Ground, and his own story Book 6 of Tales, Sunstroked.
Vahid Delrey
- Vahid is a black dragon, the trusted right hand of Sean Antaeus of
Antaeus International. As the Chief Operating Officer, Vahid is the man
who makes sure that everything runs the way Sean wants it to. Vahid is
also the former lover of Sean's sister Eden. Everyone wonders why Vahid
is always so smiling and calm. They wonder where all his extreme
emotions go to. With each book that Vahid is in, the layers of his
personality are revealed until the shocking revelation of who Vahid
Delrey really is comes to light in Tales of the Darkworld Book 4, Ride
the Lightning. Vahid's mate and backstory will hold you riveted!
Vahid is in Hot Water, Fire Season, Ride the Lightning, and Fire Storm.
